First Book Blog... Adam Grant's another good read

Recently, I have thought about what to do with all the books I read; I've decided to write about them and share interesting snippets from the books I read. (also, be in competition with my daughter for the books we finish :)

I just finished Adam Grant's Hidden Potential. I am not a bibliophile, book blogger, or literary critic; I am just a woman who reads a book and wants to share what makes it enjoyable, as I hope it would be for others.

There was an image in the book that first struck me. Seeing this image as if I was lost in the crowd and hoping someone would hold my hand, I felt vulnerable. When I first arrived in Taiwan 20 years ago, I felt like I had to meet everyone and anyone to avoid missing out on anything that was going on, but aren't we all like that a little bit in our early 20s, social pressure, regret aversion, put, FOMO (fear of missing out), as we grow older, the magnitude of this behavior tendency diminishes, but doesn't go away completely. I am back in Taiwan 20 years later; you shift your mindset rather than get engulfed by the situation.
